CSU Emblem

Since its founding in 1962 by Sara Mae and Larry Berman, the Cambridge Sports Union has been one of New England's premier athletic clubs. The 180 women and men who make up the club range in experience and ability from beginners to nationally competitive athletes.

The running section organizes regular workouts for its members, coordinates team racing activities, and puts on a number of social events throughout the year. For those who are either new to the running scene or the New England area, CSU's friendly, collegial style fosters an excellent environment in which to meet training partners with similar goals and abilities.

Winter Track Option at Reggie Lewis!
It's September, which means that WINTER's snow, ice, and cold air are right around the corner!
What to do?? Where to run?? Come join fellow CSUers at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center for speed workouts this winter!
Details:
* CSU members are entitled to a bargain membership fee of $90 for the entire season (thru 4/08).
* The Reggie Lewis Track is a 200-meter Mondo Super-X oval track, and is considered by many to be the best indoor track in New England. Many championship meets are held there, and several
elite athletes have set world records on this track. (You too can follow in their footsteps!)
* Membership includes access to the track, locker rooms and showers, cardio and fitness equipment, and even classes in stretching, strengthening, etc.
* The Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center is affiliated with Roxbury Community College and is located at the Roxbury Crossing T Stop. Plenty of free parking is available behind the building.
* CSUers will plan to gather on Tuesday evenings, depending on crowds and track availability. (Esp in Dec., the track is often reserved in the early evening hours for track meets. The track is open early ams and until 10 pm weeknights, and your membership allows you to come any day of the week. The Meet Schedule is already published at www.rltac.com, so you can plan your workouts accordingly.)
Next steps:
* If you are interested, please send me your name *by 10/15* so I can put you on the "roster."
* You need a current CSU membership and USATF membership to be eligible.
* Once I finalize the "roster," you'll need to go to the track during registration hours with a check, credit card, or money order for $90 (no cash). They'll take your picture, give you a membership card, and you'll be all set! (If you have a card from last year, bring it and they'll just update it.)

Please don't sign up unless you plan to register (barring injury, moving to some place like Greenland, or unforeseen circumstances). You can also buy a three-month membership for $80, if that works better for your schedule. And let me know if you have any questions.
