Since its founding in 1962 by Sara Mae and Larry Berman, the Cambridge Sports Union has been one of New England's
premier athletic clubs. The 250 women and men who make up the club range in experience and ability from beginners
to nationally competitive athletes.
The running section organizes regular workouts for its members, coordinates team racing activities, and puts on a
number of social events throughout the year. For those who are either new to the running scene or the New England area,
CSU's friendly, collegial style fosters an excellent environment in which to meet training partners with similar goals
and abilities.
The Walden Pond / Lincoln Woods trail run season will begin this Saturday morning June 03. We will meet adjacent to the bathrooms in the Walden Pond parking lot. The parking fee is $5/day or $35/season. Note that the ticket dispenser does not take $20 bills. As an alternative to driving I will be biking out from Jamaica Plain and would be happy to have company on the ride.
As an improvement on last season we will begin at 8am, running for an hour. Hopefully this will leave more of the day remaining to get most of your Saturday errands done. Don't forget to bring along your swim suit for a refreshing dip in the Pond after the run, I can recommend it.
Sunday June 11 at 2pm is the St Anne's in-the-Fields Steeplechase. Their 6.7 mile course follows many of the trails we use.
