Since its founding in 1962 by Sara Mae and Larry Berman, the Cambridge Sports Union has been one of New England's premier athletic clubs. The 250 women and men who make up the club range in experience and ability from beginners to nationally competitive athletes.

The running section organizes regular workouts for its members, coordinates team racing activities, and puts on a number of social events throughout the year. For those who are either new to the running scene or the New England area, CSU's friendly, collegial style fosters an excellent environment in which to meet training partners with similar goals and abilities.

four seasons run of hope
So evidently being the contact for the website draws a few e-mails from race organizers trying to drum up support for their races. I'm passing along info below for one race that does not appear on the coolrunning or nerunner calendars.

The Four Seasons Hotel Run of Hope: It's an annual event, this year it is taking place on September 26th. It's a 5K race for serious and not so serious runners. Four Seasons Hotel, Boston has once again partnered with MGH Children's Cancer Center. You can find all the information you might need on our web site

Great Legs
This is the last race in the Women's 5K Race Series. At the Louise Rossetti's 5K, Jennifer Shultis took 5th in her age group, set a PR and got a trophy! This has been a great series - so hope to see you in Lowell for the final race and the handout of 'swag' for those people who ran all the races. Last year we got cool red fleece vests.

When:Wednesday, July 14th - 6:30pm
Where: Reily Elementary School, 115 Douglas Street, Lowell, MA
Need to Know: Entry Fee: Pre-registration - $15, Race day - $17

Got Plans July 18th at 9:00am?
How about signing to run the Stowe 8 miler which is part of the USATF race series? Ok - it is in Vermont, but it is a fun race and worth the effort to get there. Here is the race link for more info: http://www.stowe8miler.org/

The team registration has passed; HOWEVER, you can still sign up for the race and then after you have run the race request reimbursement. Remember you have to have a current USATF number and wear your CSU singlet or t-shirt for the race to receive reimbursement. You will save the club some cash for us by postmarking your application by
Saturday. The race fee is $20 if postmarked by July 4; $22 thereafter.

Currently, these folks are signed up to represent the team: Jennifer Wynn, Paul Thompson, Paul Grant, Naomi Hasegawa, Rob Riordan & Lisa Doucett

Please think about running this race, we would like to get a good showing of CSUer's!
